The sun rose ever so gently
It was the promise of a new day
A day much unlike the ones behind me
The brightness illuminated off my tear stained face
Drying the sorrow of yesterday
Warming my heart
Awakening my spirit
Breathing new life into my soul
I knew at that very moment everything was changing
God was lighting the path to my future
And I need not be afraid
I could feel the warmth of His arms wrapped around me
A wave of comfort and peace spilled over me
Today is a new day! And I greet it with open arms!
